My work spans over 30 years of sculpture, painting and public art. Over the years, I received numerous grants as well as a national award in arts education. I also helped students in San Jose, Sunnyvale and Palo Alto create over 15 large-scale ceramic murals. My other community arts projects include co-founding and directing a multidisciplinary arts program for the terminally ill. Presently, I am the grant’s chairperson and treasurer for CGAF (the Clay and Glass Arts Foundation). My international experience includes artist residency programs in St. Petersburg, Russia and Okayama, Japan, and Vallauris, France. My work is in the permanent collections of the Triton Museum of Santa Clara, the Santa Cruz Museum of Art and History, the Valley Medical Center of Santa Clara County, and the City Museum of St. Petersburg, Russia.
I believe that my varied experiences working in community, teaching, and participating in residencies strongly influenced my work and that they continue to do so in new and interesting ways. Among those influences, I particularly value my interactions with other creative people in the visual arts, poetry and the performing arts.
