Ceramic Sculpture
New work by Norma Lyon, July 31- Sept 1
Reception for the Artist, Sunday, Aug. 4th, 4-7pm

Press Release

Norma Lyon's figurative works are enigmatic and engaging, inviting the viewer to ponder. Look at a sculpture and the piece often looks back. Laugh at the piece and it laughs right along with you. Hold the piece and it embraces you. Lyon's voluptuous burnished forms of fish and gourd-like shapes emit a soft, inviting glow. The pieces are smoked to give nuances to the lovely colors of the clay. Her techniques of construction range from hand-building and using plaster
molds, to wheel throwing.
