There is a landscape inside us all that reveals itself through time. One of the landscapes I find myself exploring is the tradition and idea of craft through textiles and translating that into mixed media collages. I like looking at what has traditionally been womans work historically and thinking about it in the context of fine art. The textures of fabrics lend themselves well to layering and complexity. Photographs, most I take, some I appropriate, find themselves printed onto fabric and stitched and collaged in my work. As always I find myself distroying and building in my work, looking for a link and peace with the rest of the animal kingdom and the earth.
I continue with my painting and printmaking, which I blend into my mixed media textile collages.
