My grandmother, mother and great grandmother were artists. It was my grandmother who gave me my first art lesson at five. I've been painting and drawing ever since. At the moment I'm working on large abstract acrylic paintings, as large as 4 x 8 feet. You can see my work at the Gallery House in Palo Alto or the Main Gallery in Redwood City.

I work from dark to light, building up colors in ink and accenting with color pencil, crayon and paint. Some of these are studies for paintings. My paintings are built up with texture of gesso and sometimes plaster. I paint the basic shapes, usually from a small drawing or study in black, then fill in, layering colors upon colors. I highlight arreas by lightly brushing at a cross angel, leaving a little color on the top layer of paint. I like high contrasts and briliant colors next to each other.
