I think of my work as "organized accidents" -- a place where unplanned applications of my media can be manipulated to create exciting relationships. Throughout the process, I'm continually asking, "What if ...? as a launch pad to explore and experiment with new techniques.

My creative process begins with a single element I find visually interesting. It may be an image, color, line, shape or texture. I affix it permanently to my substrate and compose around it, much like building with blocks. Generally, I don't preplan or compose.

I find working in this way lets my forms and compositions evolve in spontaneous ways and I especially enjoy being surprised by the unusual and unexpected things that develop.

Although I've been involved in the arts professionally as an advertising art director for more than 20 years, it was not until the year 2000 that I committed to creating a personal body of work. I earned my BS degree in advertising and journalism with an art minor at the University of Florida and studied graphic design and marketing at The Academy of Art, the California College of Arts and Crafts, and City College in San Francisco. My husband, Michael, and I are partners in our marketing consulting firm, Imagination, where I've been creative director since 1987.
