Merry Art at Main!

Celebrating an annual tradition, artists of The Main Gallery have created special works suitable for gift giving and holiday decorating. From Nov. 22 through Dec. 23, the gallery will offer whimsical ornaments, unique cards, beautifully crafted collectables and small collages, prints and paintings along with its usual exhibition of contemporary art and fine crafts.

In addition to the festive reception, the members of The Main Gallery will be offering for sale gently used books and art supplies at incredibly low prices. The sale will be held on the same day as the reception, starting at 11 a.m. until closing at 7 p.m.

Poetic Images

Ship of Fools

“Poetic Images” will be a creative montage as some of the gallery artists worked in conjunction with a poet and some were simply inspired by a poem.

The summer show will have an added creative feature, as there will be a poetry reading during the Opening Reception by “The Not-Yet-Dead Poets’ Society.” The poet society will read from 4 to 6 p.m. and there will be an open mike from 6 to 7 p.m.

“The Not-Yet-Dead Poets’ Society” is a writers group on the Peninsula that meets monthly at The Main Gallery to give and enjoy the spoken words of its poets in a group setting. Guest speaker programs each month feature readings from visiting poets, both emerging talents and those more widely published.
